1. Information we collect
We may collect your name, email address, phone number, restaurant or creator details, visit preferences, messages, account details, payment information handled by our payment providers, and information you choose to send us. We also receive basic device, browser, and website usage information.
2. How we collect it
We collect information when you complete a form, create or use an account, contact us, take part in a visit, or interact with our website. Some information may come from a restaurant, creator, social platform, or service provider involved in a visit.
3. How we use it
We use information to provide and improve TryLocalSpot, match and coordinate restaurant visits, communicate with you, process payments, prevent misuse, keep records, measure service performance, and meet legal obligations. We send marketing only where permitted and you can opt out.
4. When we share it
We share information only as needed to run the service: with participating restaurants or creators, service providers such as hosting, messaging, analytics, payment, and email providers, and where required for safety, legal, or business-transfer reasons. Providers may process information outside Canada. We do not sell personal information.
5. Cookies and similar tools
We may use cookies or similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, understand traffic, and improve the service. You can adjust browser settings, but some features may not work correctly if cookies are blocked.
6. Content and public information
If you publish content through a social platform or provide content for a visit, that content may be public under that platform’s settings. Do not send us information you do not have the right to share. We may use content you clearly authorize us to use for TryLocalSpot marketing, as agreed with you.
7. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above, legal records, dispute resolution, and service operations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. If a business transfer occurs, information may be transferred with the relevant business assets.
8. Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw consent where applicable, or unsubscribe from marketing. Some information must be retained to provide the service or meet legal obligations. Contact hello@trylocalspot.com.
9. Children and changes
TryLocalSpot is not intended for children under 13. We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
